Céline Marie Claudette Dion as she was named at birth was born on March 30, 1968, in Charlemagne, Quebec, Canada as the last of 14 children. She made her first musical appearance at age five at her brother’s wedding singing Christine Charbonneau’s song “Du fil, des aiguilles et du coton”.
At the age of 12, Céline Dion with the help of her mother and brother wrote and composed her first song, “Ce n’était qu’un rêve”, which means “It Was Only a Dream” or “Nothing But A Dream”.
