American Song Contest’ Week 3: Is Texas’ Grant Knoche a winner already? Fans laud FANTASTIC performance

For Lee, Massachusetts had it all — great food, universities and sports. With Lee having opened for artists like Train and having written the soundtrack for series like ‘Fantasy Island, he was all set to perform his song, ‘Shameless’, which was dedicated to the people of Massachusetts and the commitment they showed.

Although fans admitted that Lee had a great voice, they noted that the song itself might have not been the best choice. “Massachusetts couldn’t have brought a more basic pop song than this one, could they?? So unremarkable. The performance didn’t make a difference either (apart from copying Duncan Laurence) #AmericanSongContest” tweeted a fan. “Some questionable lyrics, but can’t deny that #Massachusetts has some pipes! #AmericanSongContest” added another. “Massachusetts definitely understood the assignment in terms of type of Eurovision style pop song. The song itself doesn’t really stand out to me though #AmericanSongContest” said another.

However, others thought that Lee put up a stellar performance. “Ooohhh!! Jared brought SOLID VOCALS to the #AmericanSongContest EXACTLY KELLY! EXACTLY!” tweeted a fan. “Giving some of the strongest male vocals in the competition, Jared Lee taught us to be shameless when it comes to love. A strong performance from a single man on stage. Keeping being shameless Jared! #AmericanSongContest” added another. “MA: one of the stronger more consistent voices tonight. The song’s a gentle groove – but is it big enough to get the votes? #AmericanSongContest” asked a fan.
