Sadly, that viewpoint will no longer exist, as Variety confirmed the persona will leave Chicago PD after season 10 and be replaced by newbie Dante Torres, played by Benjamin Levy Aguilar.
Shortly after his departure became public, Halstead’s actor, Jesse Lee Soffer, released a statement. He lauded the cast and crew of Chicago PD and said his time working on the show was some of the best of his career.
Although Soffer didn’t give a reason for leaving, it’s probable that he just wanted to take a break and spend more time with his family, given that the actor doesn’t have any upcoming projects scheduled.

Fans will surely miss the detective portrayed by Soffer; however, it’s unclear how Halstead, who has grown to be a leader on the adored Intelligence team, will hang up his badge or be taken off the show.
Among the fans, one notes, “Before the middle of season 10, Jesse Spencer left “Chicago Fire,” and now Jesse Soffer will likely depart “Chicago PD” as well. Was this what I signed up for? Will Jay and Hailey get a divorce? Will he pass away? What will happen to Halstead?”
