Comedian Colbert was born on May 13, 1964, in Washington D.C., U.S., and is fifty-eight years old as of 2022. Colbert is the youngest of eleven children in a Catholic family.
Spending his early years in Bethesda, Maryland, Colbert grew up in the Charleston suburb of James Island, South Carolina.

The late-night host Stephen Colbert first announced his he had tested positive for Covid on April 21. He stated on Twitter, “I tested positive for Covid, but basically, I’m feeling fine, grateful to be vaxxed and boosted.”
“The Late Show” further announced it had paused production after host Stephen experienced symptoms consistent with a recurrence of COVID, just days after Stephen returned to the show with what he felt was a serious head cold.
Stephen shared the announcement, naming it the “Worst sequel ever.” While attending Northwestern University, Stephen became interested in improvisational theatre, where he met Second City director Del Close.
He first performed professionally for Steve Carell as an understudy at Second City Chicago. Stephen’s troupe mates included Paul Dinello and Amy Sedaris, comedians with whom he created the sketch comedy series Exit 57.
Stephen Colbert returned to television on May 2. The hist then told his audience that the first three days of illness totally sucked; he later tested negative six days into his isolation.
However, on day 12 the host was back with a serious head cold. Later on Friday, his award-winning bandleader Jon Batiste announced on Instagram that he’d tested positive for Could and would postpone his long-awaited “American Symphony” show.
Colbert was appointed in 2015 to succeed retiring David Letterman as host of the Late Show, an American late-night talk show franchise on CBS. In September 2017, Colbert hosted the 69th Primetime Emmy Awards.
The host has earned nine Primetime Emmy Awards, three Peabody Awards, and two Grammy Awards. Stephen was named one of Time’s 100 Most Influential People in 2006 and 2012.
He is the author of the book “I Am America (And So Can You!), which was listed No.1 on The New York Times Best Seller list, widely considered the preeminent list of best-selling books in the U.S in 2007.

Stephen Colbert returned after canceling earlier shows due to the host experiencing symptoms consistent with a recurrence of Covid”; CBS announced Stephen’s full return to The Late Show.
His cancellation of the show earlier marked the second time he was forced to call in sick, the first time being on April 21 after he tested Covid positive.
CBS officially announced that Colbert would premiere as the Late Show host on Tuesday, September 8, 2015. The first guest of the new Kate Show was an American actor and filmmaker, George Timothy Clooney.
