Where Was the Groundswell movie shot by Hallmark? Who are the Cast Members?

Hallmark’s “Groundswell” is a love movie that centres on Emma, a chef, who makes the decision to break up with her boyfriend and go on a vacation instead of staying with him. “Groundswell” was directed by Lee Friedlander. After spending some time in Hawaii, she gets the surfing bug and chooses to enrol in a class. There, she meets Ben, an experienced surfer and teacher who teaches her how to ride the waves. She is able to better prepare herself to deal with her personal and professional issues as a result of the time she spends with Ben on the breathtaking island.

The audience is kept enthralled throughout the uplifting narrative of the Hallmark movie thanks to the movie’s stunning settings and outstanding actors. The film’s success can be attributed, in part, to the fact that it strikes a healthy balance between drama and amusement while still being visually appealing. Given the film’s many stunning settings, we can imagine that many people are wondering where it was shot, and we have the answers you’ve been looking for right here!

Locations Used for Filming Groundswell

The majority of “Groundswell” was shot on Oahu, which is located in Hawaii. The movie’s principal photography began in the later half of May 2022 and continued through June of that same year. The shoot wrapped up in 2022. Together, let’s investigate the ins and outs of how the movie was shot.

O’ahu, Hawaii

‘Groundswell’ was filmed on many islands in Hawaii, including Oahu, which served as the setting for several of the sequences. It is not surprising that the production team for the Hallmark movie chose to film here in Hawaii given that the majority of the story takes place in this location. On Oahu’s Waikiki Beach, which is located in the namesake district of the same name, some waterside and surfing sequences were filmed. Waikiki Beach is one of only six beaches in the surrounding area, thus it attracts a lot of visitors throughout the year. These visitors come to Waikiki Beach to take in the spectacular views of the ocean. It appears that a significant portion of the beach was created by human activity, which is an interesting fact. As part of the process of developing and restoring the shoreline in and around Waikiki, millions of cubic feet of sand have been added to the beach. Those who plan their trip to Waikiki between the middle of September and the end of March will have the opportunity to witness a breathtaking sunset over the water.

The city of Honolulu, which serves as the capital of Hawaii, can be found on the southeastern tip of the island of Oahu. In addition to being the location of the state capital, Oahu is also well-known for its many popular tourist sites. The film “Groundswell” is evidence that this region does, in fact, have a robust surfing culture. A series of professional surfing competitions known as the Triple Crown of Surfing has been held on the north shore of Oahu every year since 1983. Participants take part in the competition during the months of November and December each and every year. Following the conclusion of the individual competitions, the results of the competition as a whole are tallied and used to determine the overall winner.

It should come as no surprise that Oahu, which is located in the Hawaiian archipelago, is a popular choice among filmmakers when it comes to the production of their projects. The island is home to a number of breathtaking settings, and the local culture is rich and dynamic. Locations like Waikiki Beach are frequently used in films that take place in Hawaii or other coastal regions of the world. Characters go on their own enlightening experiences in Hawaii in a number of different films, just like they do in the Hallmark movie that everyone has seen. Many well-known films, like as “Punch-Drunk Love” and “Big Eyes,” were shot on the island of Oahu over the course of its history as a location for film production.

A Groundswell in the Casting

In the film “Groundswell,” starring Lacey Chabert, the part of Emma is played by the actress. She has already been a part of “The Wedding Veil Legacy” and “Christmas at Castle Hart,” thus this is not her first time appearing in a Hallmark movie. In the love story, Ektor Rivera stars as Ben, a surf instructor. The actor may be familiar to you from his prior roles in films such as “Sugar Plum Twist” and “La ltima Gira.’ Darren Darnborough as Garrett Weston, Napoleon Tavale as Sebastian, Omar Bustamante as Franky, and Lundon Knighten as Chef Tracy are some of the other characters who make cameos.

In the upcoming Hallmark movie Groundswell, the leading roles will be played by Lacey Chabert (Christmas at Castle Heart) and Ektor Rivera (Sugar Plum Twist). The first episode of the project is scheduled to air on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries on August 21.

The novel Groundswell by Katie Lee Biegel is being adapted into a film by the same name. Beigel is acting as the project’s executive producer in addition to making a cameo appearance in the production.

Emma (Chabert), a chef from Atlanta, experiences both a personal and professional setback at the beginning of the film Groundswell. She then travels to Hawaii, where she meets Ben (Rivera), a handsome and reclusive surf instructor, who provides her with training that help her get back on her feet.

In an interview with Deadline that was conducted exclusively for the publication, Biegel remarked, “I am a tremendous fan of Lacey’s movies, and she has been my dream option to portray Emma, from Day 1.” This endeavour is near and dear to my heart, and I can think of no one more qualified to take us along on Emma’s trip than you.

Cameron Johann serves in the capacity of executive producer for the Crown Media Productions show Groundswell. Both Ric Galindez and Roy Tjioe are involved in the production process. Carlie Mantilla and John Eliot Jordan wrote the screenplay, and Lee Friedlander is directing the production.

In February, Chabert signed a multi-picture contract with Crown Media Family Networks. As part of this deal, she will star in, executive produce, and develop other material for movies that will air on Hallmark Channel and other Hallmark platforms over the course of the next two years.

Buchwald and DePaz Management are the ones responsible for Rivera’s representation.
